Throughout 2022, Berry Smith supported two amazing charities – Tenovus Cancer Care and Maggie’s Cardiff. The team took part in a number of fundraising events to raise as much as possible for each charity.
Over the course of the year, our team held bake sales, a quiz night, a book swap shop as part of our Green Week 2022 and some of our female members of staff organised a Ladies Afternoon Tea at Llanerch Vineyard, which was supported by Natwest, to raise donations, which alone raised £1,154 for each charity, as pictured.
Our Ladies Afternoon Tea was a huge success, with almost 70 inspirational women coming together to support the charities. When speaking about the event Emma Borrington, a partner in our corporate team, said “This was a wonderful event to host. The venue was spectacular and it was lovely to have so many female faces in one room championing one another. As well as improving connections amongst business women in South Wales, it was great to support Maggie’s Cardiff and Tenovus Cancer Care. We hope that as a team we can go on to organise these annually”
In addition to the above, our team also supported the charities outside of our internal fundraising efforts by taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon in aid of Maggie’s Cardiff and the firm recently sponsored the Tenovus 80th Birthday Welsh Extravaganza – both events being a huge success.
The total amount raised for Maggie’s Cardiff exceeded £4,891 and the total amount raised for Tenovus Cancer Care was £3.654. The partners are so proud of what our staff have been able to achieve over the past 12 months.
In 2023, the team hope to build on their successes of 2022 as we raise money for a new nominated charity.
