FAMILY SOLICITOR

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a solicitor (1 to 5 years qualified) to join our busy Family and Matrimonial team based in Bridgend but operating throughout the South Wales region and beyond. The successful candidate will have experience in both finances and private children issues,

Requirements

  • You must be a qualified Solicitor with between 1 and 5 years PQE
  • You must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and technical expertise in dealing with all family matters.
  • You will show that you have the drive and ambition to provide a high-quality service to clients and help play a part in our further growth
  • You will require good academics and be technically strong with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You must be able to work effectively as part of a team but also demonstrate an ability to work independently
  • You will need to have the proven ability to deal effectively with clients having strong interpersonal and team skills.

COMMERCIAL DISPUTE RESOLUTION SOLICITOR

Vacancy for a Commercial Dispute Resolution Solicitor (minimum 3 Years PQE)

Due to continued growth and client demand we are looking for a Commercial Dispute Resolution solicitor to join our highly regarded Dispute Resolution team as an Associate / Senior Associate (dependent on experience), based at our Cardiff offices.

We are highly ranked by Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners and provide a friendly, supportive, and inclusive work environment, offering access to high quality work.

We are looking for a driven and ambitious candidate to provide a high quality service to clients, and to help play a part in our further growth. You would be joining a busy team with the opportunity to advise clients on a wide range of commercial disputes, acting for clients based in Wales and across the UK. Knowledge of the Welsh Language is an advantage, but not essential.

Technical skills and experience

  • We are looking for evidence of experience of work in a range of commercial dispute resolution matters. A client following is advantageous though not essential.
  • The work to be undertaken includes a variety of commercial disputes. Experience in construction related work would be of particular interest to us, though we would consider experience in a wider range of dispute resolution areas.
  • As well as being enthusiastic and ambitious, you will require good academics, be technically strong with excellent drafting and written communication skills, and a proven ability to deal effectively with clients having strong interpersonal and team skills.

Job Description

The role will involve assisting a solicitor with their property caseload in all aspects of the transaction.  You will be expected to provide a high level of client care and must be used to liaising with clients and other legal professionals on a regular basis.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

  • File creation using our Case Management System
  • Monitoring incoming post and email correspondence
  • Generating initial client care letters and fee quotations
  • Attending to clients on the telephone, and in person when required
  • Requesting redemption statements
  • Completing sales and purchases and assisting with the release of funds
  • Updating Milestones on our Case Management System
  • Post-completion duties, registering purchases and file closures
  • Assisting with the billing process
  • General administrative tasks

PARALEGAL: COMMERCIAL PROPERTY 

We have two separate opportunities available for a paralegal to join a reputable and growing Commercial Property legal department in Cardiff.

Job Description

  • The one role is full time with an emphasis on the legal aspects of the job.
  • The other role is part time (hours to be agreed) with an administrative emphasis.
  • You will support and be supported by a Partner, qualified solicitors and support staff within the commercial property department.
  • You will have exposure to commercial property work including the sale and purchase of commercial property, commercial leases, development agreements etc.
  • Opportunity to progress your career at the firm.

Requirements

Commercial property experience at a law firm is preferred but all levels of experience are welcome to apply including candidates who have only worked in residential property environments and entry level candidates with a law degree but no previous experience of working in a law firm provided they have a strong work ethic, can demonstrate an ability to learn new tasks quickly and have a passion to pursue a career within a commercial property legal department.

Preferable candidates will have experience in:

  • Opening files and carrying out anti-money laundering checks.
  • Obtaining Land Registry title documents from the Land Registry's online portal.
  • Liaising with clients, agents and solicitors in person and over the telephone relating to commercial property matters.
  • Drafting and amending commercial property documents (e.g., contracts, transfer deeds, leases and other commercial property documents).
  • Ordering conveyancing searches.
  • Reviewing title documents and the results of conveyancing searches
  • Preparing completion statements.
  • Filing stamp duty land tax and land transaction tax returns.
  • Registering deeds at the Land Registry.
  • All candidates must be capable of working independently within a busy commercial property team.
