Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time receptionist assistant to join our Management Services Team based in the Cardiff Office.

Job Description

In this role you will be providing a range of essential support services to ensure the smooth running of the firm. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience of reception cover and administration tasks, however applications will be considered from individuals looking to commence their first role in a professional services environment.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Operating the switchboard, answering incoming calls and taking messages for fee earners and support staff.
  • Greeting clients and visitors to the office
  • Scheduling meeting rooms, assisting with client visits and meeting room lunches
  • Providing general administrative support and data inputting
  • Organising incoming and outgoing post
  • Assisting the Practice Administrator and Practice Manager
  • Assisting in planning and arranging employee events

Applicant Criteria

As the first point of contact for all our existing and potential new clients the successful candidate will need to have a welcoming personality, a smart appearance and a business-like manner. You must possess excellent communication skills and have a strong work ethic.

Commercial Property Solicitor

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a 2 to 5 years PQE Solicitor to join our busy and well-regarded Commercial Property team based in our Cardiff office. The team and its leading individuals are ranked in Legal 500 & Chambers & Partners.

Suitable commercial property experience is essential to be able to take over a varied case load of existing matters and the successful candidate must have excellent academics, a strong work ethic, be able to deal with a variety of commercial property work under minimum supervision within a busy team and have a passion to pursue their career within a flourishing commercial property legal department.

Requirements

  • We are seeking a qualified Solicitor of between 2 to 5 years PQE;
  • Strong organisational skills, excellent academics, good time management, initiative, technical competence, commercial awareness and the ability to solve problems;
  • Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with clients, surveyors, agents, solicitors and colleagues with an ability to understand property issues and to work with clients and other parties to resolve them quickly and cost effectively;
  • Candidates will have experience of dealing with all types of commercial property transactions and clients as the work will involve freehold sales and purchases, option agreements, overage deeds, commercial leases of offices, shops and industrial units (acting for landlords and tenants); advising banks and financial institutions on secured lending transactions; advising developers on residential and commercial development sites with related plot sales; acting for local authorities and other public sector organisations under the NPS framework; property portfolio management work; corporate support and litigation support;
  • Ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial property documents e.g. sale/purchase contracts, transfer deeds, option agreements, overage deeds, commercial leases, legal charges, development agreements, collateral warranties, s106, s104, s278 and s38 Agreements and other commercial property documents;
  • Ability to investigate and analyse detailed and complicated freehold and leasehold titles to produce accurate and informative reports on title/certificates of title;
  • Willingness to attend marketing events, write legal articles and be involved in other business development opportunities to assist with the expansion of both the department and the practice firm-wide;
  • An existing following is not a requirement, but the successful candidate will be expected to help expand the department’s varied client database;
  • All candidates must be capable of working independently with the minimum of supervision but within the framework of a busy commercial property team;
  • A strong work ethic with an enthusiasm and passion to develop your own long term career opportunities within the department;

We are looking to recruit a full-time fee earner to join our expanding Conveyancing Team based in the Cardiff Office (with the potential opportunity for part remote working). A competitive salary and benefits package is available.

Job Description

The role will involve handling a mixed caseload of sales, purchases and re-mortgages of both freehold and leasehold properties on behalf of private clients. Working with a case management system you will be managing the file from the point of instruction to completion with the assistance of support staff.

Applicant Criteria

The role would be suitable for a solicitor, licenced conveyancer, legal executive or paralegal with several years’ experience of running their own caseload with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate must have excellent client care skills, a good attention to detail and the ability to work well and excel in a fast- paced environment.
