Job Description
In this role, you will assist fee earners with the day-to-day management of a varied commercial property caseload and undertake a range of substantive legal work.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
· Assisting with transaction management from instruction through to completion and post-completion formalities.
· Liaising with clients, solicitors, lenders, local authorities and other third parties in a professional manner.
· Initial drafting of legal documents including contracts, transfer deeds, licences and leases.
· Obtaining and reviewing title documentation and property searches
· Preparing completion statements and assisting with financial completions.
· Preparing and submitting SDLT/LTT returns and arranging payment.
· Preparing and submitting Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions.
· Completing Companies House registrations and filings.
· Undertaking legal research and providing detailed findings to fee earners.
· Maintaining accurate records and ensuring the case management system is fully updated
Applicant Criteria
Required skills and experience:
· Previous experience working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant or equivalent, ideally within a property department
· A sound understanding of property transactions and associated legal procedures
· Experience of reviewing title documentation and property searches would be advantageous
· Excellent drafting, organisational and analytical skills
· Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach
· Ability to manage multiple matters and prioritise competing demands effectively.
· A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
· Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and case management systems
